Now That’s What I Call Holding a Grudge

Published by Laurie on Tagged Just Wrong, Society

I really must stop reading newspapers.  I try to just read the fluff, and what do I get?  This business about Leona Helmsley leaving 12 million dollars to her dog and leaving nothing to two of her four grandchildren leaves me with a sickening feeling.  Realizing that there are people who are so stubborn and selfish even with their last breath.

How can someone become so vindictive that they even want to screw people AFTER they die.  I can’t fathom that.  I don’t care what her grandkids did.  I’m not saying they should have gotten anything.  Maybe no one should have received anything from her will.  She could have given it all to charitable foundations.  But the fact that she leaves 12 million dollars to a dog, and nothing to two of her grandchildren is just spiteful.  It’s the actions of an unforgiving, unhappy, vindictive woman.

Even the people that she did leave money for had to follow specific instructions in order to keep the money.  The other two grandkids have to visit the grave of their deceased father each year or guess what?  Cut off!  Yep, that’s right, no more cash.

I may be financially poor, but at least I own my own soul.  I seriously wouldn’t want money if strings were attached like that.  And she is still paying people to do her bidding.  Even after she’s dead.  I imagine that’s why a dog received so much compensation.  Dogs generally give unconditional love.  They don’t care what you’ve done.  Give them some food and they’re yours for life. The only problem seems to be that when you want people to act like dogs, they don’t comply all that well, especially if they’re treated like dogs.  I don’t pretend to know the details of that family’s dynamics, and I have always said no one knows what goes on behind closed doors, but it looks an awful lot like she used her money like dog treats.

Sit - stay – rollover.  Good dog.  Here’s your cash.

What? You peed on the rug!  Bad dog. No cash for you.

I’m sorry, but that’s what I come away with.  Who knows, maybe the press is spinning it (like they do everything else) to make her look bad. But I remember her in the news when she went to jail for taxes.  She did come off like a nasty, miserable person.  She looked the part, she sounded the part, she acted the part, and that was back when there was way less spinning going on.

But, even if that’s the case, using a last will and testament for malicious spite is just wrong.  What benefit can you possibly gain, your dead for Christ’s sake!  Sadly, it’s the legacy that she wanted to leave for her family.  Her last intentions on this earth, wasted on vindictiveness.

Well, you do have to hand it to her. She took the bitch role to the grave. I don’t recall anyone famous doing this.

She was so evil when you looked at her you shuddered. Children cried. When she died I was surprised there wasn’t the news her relatives beat her in the head with their shoes.
